Personal Critical Reflection Essay
This course and the professor have definitely been very impactful for me in a positive way. All throughout the semester I have been up and down with my grades and on my strength. I have always been a student that has motivation to get good grades and have a perfect academic life but semester has just been a really rough road. Although there were a lot of times I gave up I always got back up and tried my best to complete many of my assignments and I’ve done it especially with this class the professor being very flexible and helpful has helped me a great amount. I really appreciate that this course is not stressful on students. It is enjoyable and interesting to talk about even on Zoom's. I enjoyed discussing my section about the book, and also really enjoyed listening to all the other students and what the professor had to say about it.
Before I entered this class, I had in mind that this course was going to be really complicated and stressful since it was going to be about political science. I have always had trouble understanding all the information politics and history has to offer since it is a large amount. But this class was the complete opposite of what I had in mind. I loved that not every single was just notes and memorizing every single fact about a certain theme or topic. In fact, all of the discussions and the books helped me better understand the topics we were learning in class. Not only that the teacher is very sympathetic and understanding towards the students because since I’ve always been a shy individual discussing my section was not always the easiest but the teacher was the reason why I felt confident in what I was discussing.
Throughout this course I have not only grown as a student but I also grown as myself outside of school. Everything I learned throughout this course has helped me view many things more open-minded and not just focus on how one thing can occur. Most of the time at school this class was the only one I felt that I had an opportunity to actually speak about the subject that actually interested me and I can learn more from it and apply all of my knowledge to the real world and not use my knowledge just academically. This course is forever going to have a positive impact in my life.
This semester has been a rollercoaster of emotions and events not just for me but for everyone and professor Acker was the only teacher that was very understandable with us and asked how we were not only physically but mentally. This really helped me not to give up with his class because although my personal life was all knotted up this class was a stress relief in a way science the subject is not a very heavy topic and the professor made the course very enjoyable and interesting.
This course overall, is the best course I have taken my whole high school years and I will always remember it. This course has taught me a lot and has put a lot of knowledge into my mind. Not only the course but all of the positive messages you would give in the Zoom’s, those messages were honestly the highlight of this semester for me because I know I have an awesome professor that is the absolute best with taking care of the students and teaching this course. I really admire the way you communicate with the students, and do not pressure us at all and when we need any extra day you are understandable and understanding. This class has been a really big motivation this semester and I hope I can have your class next semester.
This paragraph is just a thank you for you professor Acker. I want to thank you for all that you have done not only for me but for all of the other students all of your effort does not go unnoticed. I appreciate the fact that you were always really motivating as well as supporting and gave me the opportunity to get my grade up with the extra credit it means a lot. This semester has not been the easiest for me and you made it a lot easier for me. But this class will always have a place in my heart and everything that you have taught us. You are really appreciated. And once again thank you so much, and Happy Holidays! Have a great winter vacation!
