Throughout the profound journey of Professor Acker’s political science course, I was able to exponentially grow as not only a student, but as a strong-minded individual of our own society. The course gave insight on a variety of society’s top political issues, with great emphasis on their roles in society, and true relevance. Any and all issues were strongly addressed, including racial discrimination, gender inequality, military industrial technology, the grim reality of the military, the education system, poverty, the classes tier, the power struggle, society’s inhumanity, rebellion, government corruption, injustices, LGBTQ+ inequality, climate change, protests/riots, civil movements, immigration, abortion laws, and several more significant conflicts in our world today…[T]he class is easily one of the most engaging and necessary courses I’ve ever taken…

Inexplicably, Professor Acker’s political science class will always hold a close spot in my heart, as it has inspired me to take charge of society’s greatest conflicts, have a genuine voice in my beliefs, sympathize with individuals and their stories, acknowledge the bigger picture that many instantly disregard, strive for the betterment and improvement in myself, and make connections to the huge conflicts and how I’ve contributed or experienced similarly.
